Ride for the Dream

Cycling From Coast To Coast

As I prepare for my bike trip across the United States, I am writing on behalf of The Dream Factory Racing Team. Based out of Louisville, KY, and with 38 chapters nationwide, The Dream Factory is a non-profit organization that grants “dreams” for critically and chronically ill children. Please visit their national website at dreamfactoryinc.org.

The Dream Factory Racing Team was created to help raise funds and awareness for the organization with the goal to grant more dreams for sick children. The company is proud to state that nearly 90-percent of its funds go directly to these children and their families. For them, it’s a needed relief from their daily struggles. Each athlete, like me, will help raise money by participating in one of hundreds of athletic events around the world. The proceeds raised, through generous supporters like you, will be donated to The Dream Factory. I am asking individuals and corporations for donations. I am not only completing a personal goal but also doing it for a great cause, which makes it all the more worthwhile.

I start my unsupported 3,070-mile journey in San Diego, California on March 03, 2014 with a final destination of St. Augustine, Florida. The plan: In short…average 85 miles per riding day, a few rest days and six weeks to complete. Starting in California and passing through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. I will be carrying all of my own gear, staying in hotels when available and camping when they are not.  This trip is one of those bucket list things you hope you will get a chance to do but wonder if you will ever have the time or opportunity. I’m lucky to have the support of my wife and family and excited about the opportunity to raise money and awareness for The Dream Factory.

Contributions to The Dream Factory, a 501(c)(3) organization, tax ID # 31-1009812, are tax-deductible. A copy of The Dream Factory’s annual report may be obtained, upon request. From the entire Dream Factory family, including the thousands of volunteers and the families of those helped by the wonderful organization, and on behalf of The Dream Factory Racing Team, THANK YOU! Anything you can provide is much appreciated. To make a contribution today, please visit my donation page by clicking here or checks can be mailed directly to The Dream Factory, 120 W. Broadway, Suite 300, Louisville, Ky, 40202.
